Trials - LDS Media - Look to the Light

Hi. :) Today I talked to a friend who is going through a really hard time. Talking to her caused me to remember a time when I was going through - probably the biggest trial of my life. I was overcome with pain and sorrow. I prayed for peace, and longed for healing and for the sorrows to come to an end. I remember wondering how long it would take for my trial to end; did it really need to go on as long as it did? Did my suffering need to be SO GREAT?

I continued to pray and to do all that I could to endure my trials well... to do what was right even when it was most challenging to do so. In the face of these trials I had no idea that they would be the source of the greatest peace that I could ever imagine - or that I would draw closer to the lord in a way I never knew possible (I was already very close to the lord).

But there MUST BE an opposition in all things. At the close of those trials I could clearly see that the depth of suffering I experienced directly correlated with the depth of growth and personal miracles which I experienced as a result of suffering. I AM SO GLAD I WENT THROUGH THOSE TRIALS; THE BLESSINGS WHICH FOLLOWED WERE sooo WORTH IT ALL!!! :)

To anyone who is going through trials, and who may sometimes wonder, "where is God?" Know this, He IS aware of your suffering. He LOVES YOU. And if you endure well... do His will and choose the right no matter how hard or how impossible it may seem... - HE WILL MAKE YOU EQUAL TO THE TASK. You will be blessed with blessings as great and wonderful as your trials were terrible. If you endure your trials well, blessings will come and sorrow will be replaced with peace and gratitude. In the mean time, trust in the Lord. KNOW that you will not be left alone. Even when you are left to wait upon the lord for your trials to end, know that He is crying WITH YOU. You are never alone, and you can make it through...

I leave you my testimony of these things, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Corine :D
