Life

This came to me in the form of a forwarded email, sent by my wonderful friend, Lise (THANKS Lise!). It is very inspirational. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. :)

"Loyalty...

Sorrow...

Innocence...

Departure...

Pain...

Respect...

Compassion...

Friendship...

Patience...

Rescued...

Divine...

This year we have truly learned...

'Life is not about waiting for the storms to pass....

it's about learning how to dance in the rain.'

Be kinder than necessary,
Because everyone you meet
Is fighting some kind of battle. "

Here is another quote which I found on lds.org.

" 'When you’re of service, you lose yourself,' Howell said. 'All of a sudden your trials don’t seem nearly as big because everybody else is going through something. It puts it in perspective, and it’s very, very healing.' (italics added)

Howell still has her struggles, but she has truly allowed the peace of humanitarian service to heal her broken heart."

For the rest of the article about Howell, go here. Enjoy! :)

Wishing you your own journey to healing through the service of others.

  3. I loved this Corine. It's so true. I always try to remember the words of "I would Follow Thee," where it says "in the quiet heart is hidden sorrow that the eye can't see." How true is that? How many times have we been smiling on the outside and yet crumbling on the inside? It is usually then when someone shows just an extra bit of kindness and it makes all the difference. Plus, it never hurts to be a little kinder than necessary, because you may never know what personal hell that person might be going through.
Thanks for a great & timely post.

  4. Natalie, your comment is beautiful! "In the quiet heart is hidden sorrow that the eye can't see." I wonder if everyone does that... smiles on the outside while crying within. But like you said, some tiny random act of kindness will be performed by some wonderful person worthy of the title "friend," and suddenly, that outward smile makes it's way to the inside. :) Sometimes, it is someone you don't even know - maybe even a fellow blogger, such as yourself!

Thanks for stopping by, it is always nice to see you here! I hope your day is filled with smiles. :)
