Christmas Day 2011

Yesterday was
Christmas day...
It was wonderful! :)

And - yes - despite what I said in a previous post, there really are preparations to celebrating this glorious day...

There is baking and finger food making; gifts to make ready to give; assembly of a Christmas casserole the night before so it won't have to be prepared the sacred morning of; there may be a tree to decorate, gifts to wrap, and stockings to stuff etc...

Mostly, though, the preparations take place in our hearts and minds.
These are the preparations I most enjoy! :)

Despite all that we plan, we never really know what the day will be like until after it is through. There are experiences which don't occur as planned...

And there are experiences never so much as imagined which take ones breath away...

Laughing hard enough to cry...

For the record, I played, too and it was fun :)
You just can't see me because I'm behind the camera! ;o

We watched this movie on Christmas day - twice - It was a Christmas gift from my mother and the icing on the cake that brought our minds back to Christ and the great love that He has for each of us.

Watching this movie caused me to count my blessings and to reflect on how much I have.
Life is overflowing with blessings!!! :D

I don't have a photo of us watching this movie to share with you here.
But to tell you the truth, we were balling our eyes out, and I don't think puffy red eyes would have looked very good. ;)
Such is the spirit of Christmas... :)

After all is said and done, I must say, I still believe...

Thank you, Santa Mrs. Claus and Elves ;)
(My dear friends Dalva and Emily - and my sweet mother)
... for such wonderful gifts!
And THANK YOU Heavenly Father, and Jesus Christ... for the plan of salvation, and a wonderful life! :)

This is how Christmas was for us this year. It was magical. It was peaceful and wonderful! We hope yours was, too! :)

Corine :D

  1. I loved all of your pictures! You guys look so good for it being Christmas morning! How do you do that??? :) I never take pictures on Christmas morning anymore... maybe I should start again!

Your goodie table looks so yummy! And your tree is absolutely gorgeous! We don't have pretty trees like that down here... ours are pretty Charlie Brown looking if you know what I mean. haha... That's partly why we have a fake tree now.

I'm so glad you had a great Christmas. Thanks for sharing it with us!

  2. Looks like you had a wonderful Christmas... full of fun and warm memories.

    Have a great week!

  3. Ginger -

What are you talking about, Ginger? We all have "bed head" and puffy faces from staying up too late the night before? LOL Perhaps we see those things in ourselves, but not in others??? I will admit, I am only keeping the photos of me FOR THE MEMORIES! That last photo was the ONLY one of me that I thought looked OK; thank God for one decent photo!!! :D

PS. Our tree is fake, too. But my artistic husband replaced the center piece of wood with the center of a tree we had one year which was real. This year he did a fabulous job of assembly, and I did a fab job of decorating if I do say so myself! ;) I wanted a fuller tree before it went up, then fell in love with it and am now thankful for the tree again, especially since it is one of the trees he enjoyed growing up with his family.

In case I don't talk to you again in the next few days... Happy New Year!
    Corine :D

  4. Kerin - Yes we did! It was an absolutely wonderful day! :) I hope you had a good Christmas, too!
    Happy New Year!
    Corine :D

  5. Very fun!! We got that movie for Chrismtas from my dad! Total tear jerker!

Glad you had a good Christmas!

  6. Cool, Kendra! Isn't that an amazing movie? We were all bawling our eyes out, and actually watched it TWICE in the same day! :o

PS. Thanks again for letting me participate in your blog. You have a great blog! :)

    Corine :D

There is a ripple effect in all that we do; what you do touches me, what I do touches you...

THANK YOU for your comments; you add so much insight and brighten my day! :)
